Theme Song Essay: Belief of One's Self

Belief is important and an incredibly significant motive for the world to keep in motion and play its course around society and how people recognize themselves. The song "I Believe I Can Fly" by R. Kelly demonstrates the idea that any person that has set their eyes on something and believed that they could accomplish that very goal can overcome themselves and complete that set objective.
A majority of people usually end up giving up on their dreams and goals solely because they do not have any belief to aid them along their journey to carry out their motives. The song "I Believe I Can Fly" inferences the use of metaphorical value in the chorus by juxtaposing flying to manifesting your dreams through exclaiming, "I believe I can fly, I believe I can touch the sky" (R. Kelly). The meaning of this conveys that if a person reaches high enough in something they believe, the possibility of it may increase. The use of metaphors supports the introduction of the song that uses repetition to convey that if someone sets their eyes and believes in a wish, then they can do it by repeating, "If I can see it, then I can do it" and "If I just believe it, there's nothing to it" (R. Kelly). The line exemplifies compassion and belief on what their goal is and supports the idea that if someone tries hard enough, they will eventually succeed in carrying out their aim.
Belief is an essential key part of me, and it drove me to accomplish many successful goals that I didn't plan on doing beforehand. I have made remarkably successful academic achievements in the past just because I challenged myself against the odds and believed in what I could execute. During my second year of junior high school I put my skills to the test and exceeded my expectations by producing exceptional amount of arduous work into a project affiliated with NHD or National History Day. National History Day is an organization that runs project-based contests for students that are from 6th grade all the way to 12th grade. Among the options of contrasting projects, I chose to do a documentary since I had some experience in that form of subject. After spending hours on hours of working on the project, I had eventually finished my documentary video. Due to the immense amount of work I put into this project, I managed to produce the best documentary project for NHD in my school. Not only did I win 1st place in my school, I also pulled off 1st place in regionals which lead me to proceed to compete in the state competitions of NHD. Because of my outstanding performance in what I accomplished in 7th grade; I had enough confidence to believe in myself to compete in my third year of junior high school. With the result of my last year’s progress in NHD, I managed to go all the way to compete in state again in 8th grade. With all that I accomplished in the amount of time I put into my work, "I Believe I Can Fly" would be my life’s theme song.
Society thrives heavily off the amount of belief one person could produce. Without belief we would never have society like we view it nowadays because people’s belief is what transforms and produces the shape of the future. From J. K. Rowling living in a dilapidated state within her car to selling over five hundred million copies, winning multiple awards, and creating the best-selling book series in history to Nikola Tesla designing and inventing the alternate-current electric system, the tesla coil for radio technology, and discovering the rotating magnetic field. If any individual situates their mentality into an object, occurrence, state, or act they will fulfill and achieve their goal if they possess an adequate amount of trust, faith, confidence, and belief.
